Guest Spot on the Hardwood Hustle!

​🎙️🏀 Apparently, some bucket-list moments arrive through a webcam and a very large microphone.

This week, I had the opportunity to be a guest on the Hardwood Hustle podcast.

This one felt a little surreal.

After more than 27 years of coaching basketball and football, it was incredibly meaningful to talk about two subjects I care deeply about: coaching and emotionally intelligent leadership.

We explored the value of Ei in coaching, including:
🌀 How a coach’s emotional state influences the team
🌀 Why self-awareness and self-management matter under pressure
🌀 How small interactions with players become meaningful micro moments
🌀 How coaches can maintain high standards while still understanding what individual players need

At its core, Ei leadership is about how you show up for your team. How you show up affects how people feel. How they feel influences how they engage, respond, and perform.

I’m grateful to TJ Rosene, Sam Allen, and the Hardwood Hustle team for the invitation and the opportunity to have this conversation.

I’ll share the episode when it is released. For now, I’m still taking in how cool it was to be part of it.
